Fireworks + Pets = A Rough Night
We love the 4th of July. Our pets? Not so much.
Loud booms, flashing lights, and nonstop noise can send even the calmest dogs and cats into panic mode. They might shake, hide, bark, meow, or try to run away. Some won’t eat. Others can’t stop pacing. It’s heartbreaking and stressful for everyone.
According to the American Kennel Club, fireworks are one of the top triggers for noise anxiety in pets. And the 4th is when it hits hardest.
Signs of Firework Anxiety in Pets
Whether it's your first 4th of July with a new pet or you're trying to better support an older companion, watch for signs of stress such as:
- Trembling or shaking
- Hiding under furniture
- Whining, barking, or meowing more than usual
- Pacing or restlessness
- Loss of appetite
- Trying to escape or flee
- Panting (even without heat)
Recognizing these signs early can help you act fast and give your pet the support they need before panic sets in.
What Helps? Calm + CBD
CBD works with your pet’s endocannabinoid system (ECS), the part of the body that helps manage stress and fear. When your pet’s ECS is out of balance, their anxiety can spike. That’s where CBD comes in.
In pets, CBD may help:
- Promote relaxation without sedation
- Reduce reactivity to triggers
- Support a sense of safety and balance
Our Be Well for Animals tincture is made just for pets. It’s THC-free, vet-formulated, and strong enough to actually help. Most pet parents give it 30–60 minutes before fireworks start. Some give it daily for added support during firework season.

Other Tips for a Chill Night
CBD works best when it’s part of a bigger calming plan:
- Let them hide in their favorite spot
- Play music or turn on a fan to drown out noise
- Stay calm yourself
- Try a compression vest if they like snug pressure
- Make sure they’re inside and safe
